Earthquake's in the Mid-West?
"The quake, given a preliminary magnitude of 5.4, was centered about 6 miles from Mount Carmel, Ill., and about 131 miles east of St. Louis, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It struck about 2 miles underground at 5:36 a.m., the agency said.
The USGS received reports from all over West Michigan, including Grand Rapids, Ada, Caledonia, Holland, Wayland and Trufant. Residents reported feeling floors vibrate, window-coverings shake and small drawers rattle. " The Grand Rapids Press 04/18/08

Yikes, if living in the Mid-West isn't bad enough, now they have to contend with earthquakes as well as tornado's.
I'll stick with earthquake's and the occasional wild fire/mudslide.
