Custom Christmas

Custom handmade Christmas stockings and decorative pennant banners!! Custom banners listed here.  Stockings will be listed here as well, hopefully by end of day Thursday.

Stockings and decorative banners are typically made from unbleached cotton canvas, burlap in various holiday colors and cotton holiday print.

Both items can be customized with text, bling, your favorite fabric prints or anything else you may have in mind.

HAPPY DECORATING!
I will be starting mine today.

Fa La La La HA!!

Bahahahahaha!!

FAIL!

So yesterday came and went. Today is now tomorrow. This is my Christmas tree still in the wrap. I did actually get it in the stand with some water this morning (with help from The Boss), but it still has the plastic wrap on it and NOT ONE shiny object. Trying again today.

Ta Ta for now!

Tree Decor

I have a bold "To Do" list today. Number 1 on the list is to decorate the Christmas tree. I will post pictures tomorrow. For today here is a photo of my wish list tree...room...etc...

I Need Some Decor Inspiration!

I would REALLY love to use this idea for our Christmas tree this year. Seriously. I would do it, but alas, I am sure The Boss would not be on board with this one. I think it's cute and creative, plus is would bug the shit out of most people and that is my ultimate goal. Just kidding (sort of).

Anywho, What really started this Google perusal of Christmas decor was my search for some ideas to make new tree decor. I have been meaning to do it the last couple of years and just haven't made the time. Well guess what? Last year I threw out ALL of my Christmas decor so I would have to make new for this year. Hahahahaha! What a dumbass, I know. That will show me, huh?

Again, anywho. Does anyone have any sources, ideas, blog links, tutorials for great Christmas decor we can make? Yes, my lovely children (I know you guys read my posts) I said WE, so get prepared to make some Christmas decorations.

I am going to look around the Google world for some inspiration, let me know if you find anything. Thanks!

My New Christmas Tree

I was wondering where I was going to put my Christmas tree this year.

West Elm helped me decide.

Are you lacking floor space for your Christmas tree this year? Here is a great solution.

You can work this tree in behind the front door or right next to the fireplace (no worries about it bursting into flames). Allergies or an aversion to evergreen needles? Does your crazy cat climb your tree every year? No problem! You can slip this tree in anywhere.

I think I will add a string of lights to go along with these little beauties and call it good (just kidding, sort of).

Where are you putting your tree this year? Have you decided yet? Does this help? Do you care?

Well, I am off to buy some chalk and clear lights. Ta Ta!

Decorating or Decompressing

Here is an idea for a really cute and easy table decoration.
Simply remove the silver hook on the ornament and stick the flowers of your choice inside.

...OR

If you have ran out of money, patients, time, ideas, energy, Valium,...

Try this:

Dirty Martini Recipe Ingredients
2 oz. Vodka or Gin
3/4 oz. Dirty Martini Olive Juice
1/2 oz. Dry Vermouth
Chill a martini in the freezer or add ice to get it "very" cold

Ahhhh, feet up and enjoy!

Make a Tree Skirt

What is that? You still don't have a tree skirt, you need a new one, you want to give one as a gift? Here is your answer, a quick and SUPER easy tree skirt to make.

Christmas Tree Decor

We did some decorating over the weekend. The tree I ended up with is not the tree I had planned for. The tree itself is beautiful, the kids picked it out and delivered it home (it's so cool having a teenage driver). My tree decor project however, failed! I procrastinated too long and ran out of time (maybe next year). So here is a quick look at my tree with decor from years past.

The tree...

...the recycled decorations from past years...

...the view from our family room...

...and my kitchen vignette, seasonal display for Christmas.
(oops, sorry about the chili making going on in the background)
What type of decorating are you doing in your home? I can't wait to see!

Holiday Lighting

What is au courant in the holiday lighting world?

LED's-Light Emitting Diodes are semiconductors used to create light. There are other types of Solid State Lights ("SSL,") but LED's are the most relevant for general illumination.

When you select energy-efficient lighting, you:
• Save a lot of money;
• Reduce the need for additional power plants;
• Reduce greenhouse gases and other pollution; and,
• Are able to use lighting in ways you never thought possible

Here are some interesting non-traditional designs:
...oooo like diamond!

...and in color

I sense a jewelry theme here.

...some purple, they come in gold as well for the Laker fan, maybe?

...and this is just weird. I didn't even know they made black-light holiday lights!

Project Update

Well, I still haven't found exactly what I need to complete my project.

However, I think you can see by this picture the outcome I am looking for. These will be little "presents" to decorate our Christmas tree, just hook the hanger through the ribbon on the back and hang.
I cut out 3 and 4 inch cardboard squares, 50 each. I will be wrapping tiny little presents for a few days. When I find the right color raffia ribbon I will tie them all up. They will share space with white "snowball"garland and opalescent white lights.
For now I am off to another Michael's to find the correct ribbon.

Monday

What IS she doing?

I am working on a Christmas decor project. I had planned on showing you the finished product but I changed my mind on the trim piece last night so I have to make a trip to the store this morning.
As soon as I finish up my morning; school drop off, grocery shopping, school fund raiser and the craft store I will post some pics of the finished product.
See you soon.
