The California Ranch.
In my humble opinion, an American icon and some of the best designed homes of our time.

The Palm Springs house is awesome. I also have a new take on homes built on pilings. Take a look they are all great homes.
Thanks Curbed LA.
California Ranch Style
Academy Award-winning cinematographer Robert Richardson enlisted Marmol Radziner, a firm experienced in restoring mid-century homes, to bring life back to a 1952 Cliff May California Ranch home.

Located in a wooded canyon in West Los Angeles.

A 288 square foot skylight supplies ample light.

Bringing nature inside.

May's houses were made to incorporate the surroundings. May's used natural elements and connected to the California landscape.
The home was renovated but remained clearly a Cliff May house, just updated.

This room is from a lovely home in the new issue of Elle Decor. The chairs, the chairs, the chairs!
I wish I could fill my home with just chairs. A chair collector? Just collect beautiful chairs. Is there a chair museum? That's it, I am missing my calling, I should be a curator at the chair museum. Anyone? My resume is updated, let me know where to send it.

What's old is new again.
Here is a room and from the November 1959 edition of BHG.
You can obtain the same look currently at Urban Outfitters. They really have some cool stuff, if you like the mid century look.

I can not get me enough of the mid century design. I wish I wouldn't have convinced my mother to get rid of all her "junk" a few years back.
