This is so fun! I have been playing with it for hours. It's called Polyvore. You can mix and match images from anywhere on the web, to create outfits, interior designs, or any kind of collage.

The very nice Summer of designismine, turned me on to it. Thanks, Summer!

These canvas magazine butlers from West Elm are exactly what I need. Not only are they the perfect non-colors, but they are the greatest prints.

They are much more stylish than my current, basket on the floor system.

'memba these? His name is Tippy the Turtle and he lives in a pond. They used to make cats, dogs, elephants, you name it.


They may still sell them, I don't know, but I know this one has been hanging around along time. My daughter found him in a drawer at her grandmothers and has been bugging me for a week to "make" it. Maybe I'll teach her how to "make" it, after all it's the sewing equivalent of paint by numbers. Sew on dotted line.

I have a giant bolt of yards and yards of this upholstery fabric. Of course I love it because it is black and white. Black and white Michelle, not blue.

I have been thinking about what to do with it for awhile now.

I believe my first project will be a cornice board valance for these two windows.

This project will have to share some time with my summer school commitment so it may be a work in progress for a little while.

After that maybe something for someone else.

This room is from a lovely home in the new issue of Elle Decor. The chairs, the chairs, the chairs!

I wish I could fill my home with just chairs. A chair collector? Just collect beautiful chairs. Is there a chair museum? That's it, I am missing my calling, I should be a curator at the chair museum. Anyone? My resume is updated, let me know where to send it.

So I have been trying to work on some things, but alas, I just keep adding junk on junk. I think I need a new workspace.

What I really need is some inspiration, I think the recent heat wave has fried my brain.

I think I will go through my blogroll and look at all of the beautiful things others are working on, maybe it will spark something in my overheated melon.

I found a Big Yank button while perusing my vintage button stash. I was curious about it's history so I made a quick trip to Google.

Big Yank was once one of the nation's largest manufacturers of work clothing, operating 24 plants in the 1940's. Like many clothing makers, it has watched revenues slip over the years as it lost business to factories overseas. It was bought out buy a Fortune 500 conglomerate in the late "80's and it is no more.

Buy American.

Some art? I created over the weekend. Experimenting, kind of fun.

I have to share, I saw this wonderful chair (and beautiful little cushion) on design*sponge.

This chair is to die for. A recently recovered wing chair project by Anna Spiro of Black and Spiro (http://www.blackandspiro.com.au/). Her blog is appropriately called; Absolutely Beautiful Things (http://www.absolutelybeautifulthings.blogspot.com/). Australian designers are some of my favorites, lots of talent there. Check her out, her blog is beautiful.

Bummer, I wish I wouldn't have gotten rid of the old wing chair I had.

This fabric is so cute. I love it. I have made a pillow out of it but so far I have been procrastinating about listing it for sale. I want to keep it.

This is vintage fabric, not sure how old it is, but it is 60's or 70's era for sure.

Keep it, or sell it and let someone else enjoy it?

The Gap has the cutest bags right now. I am usually not a fan of the Gap but these are really cute for summer.

An ad from the May 1965 edition of BHG. A designer, Ruth L. Strauss, demonstrates how to use different styles of mirrors to achieve different effects. Colors and patterns may come and go, but a few classic pieces will last a lifetime. The mirror, chair and table would work with almost any trend of the last 40 years.

I found another treasure. This is lace panel, it is from Newberry's, which is a store that closed sometime in the early '70's. I love this, it will be so pretty over a contrasting solid.
