Wall Decor And Work In Progress

I made some wall decor a couple of week ends ago. All were made with some fabric stash, a staple gun and thrifted art canvas. It's still not complete, but I thought I would share.

We are having some built-in book shelves done and hanging a flat screen on another wall, across the room, that should be done in a couple of weeks. I will post photos when that is complete, it's really ugly right now.

I don't know why this looks crooked in the pic it doesn't in person.

I am trying to accomplish a little redo, here and there, before the summer chaos arrives.

The photo is a little tight I know, but there is a new un-finished door to the right and an ugly thermostat to the left. It looks better in real life.

It definitely needs something else. The whole room is a work in progress at this point, but I wanted to share this portion so it would motivate me to finish it up.

Next. I have to paint the door. Everyone thinks I am crazy but I am painting it shiny black. It is the door from the garage to the family room/kitchen area, we use it like a front door, so it gets quite abused/dirty. So black it is. We will see...

You can get really creative with what you put in them. Kids art projects take on a new look when framed and mounted on the wall. Print out your regular color photos in black and white or sepia, mount them and you have custom art.

Easy Living Magazine

What a great way to brighten up a corner or drab entry wall. Great for hard to hang areas, ie, concrete or masonry walls.

Yesterday, as I was trolling one of my favorite online bargain stores (smartbargains.com), I came upon this.



I was immediately hit with a brain storm (yes, I think my loopy melon has recovered from the heat).

I CAN collect chairs, just not the one's you sit in. I will collect prints, photos, tear outs, what ever, and hang them on my walls! My own chair museum, it's not like the job offers were rolling in to work at the real? chair museum anyway.

I have a 20 foot ceiling in my living room/office/workspace and have agonized for years over what to do with all the negative wall space. I'm not real keen on climbing around on a 20 ft ladder, but that's a sacrifice I will have to make to be the curator of the chair museum.

Side note: Karen this would look delightful with the bench you liked a few posts back. Something for your new home??

Just something I thought I'd share

This is on the wall in my living room. I love it. My friend Karen made the vase years ago, in her creative phase. It's purple with silver overspray on it, I love it.

I have to go and do some work now, the kind that could possibly generate some income. As you can tell from the posts today, I have been doing this the majority of the morning.

Time to quit procrastinating must go and check the work email.
